The College Access Advisory Team was formed in April 2007 to advise the Commission’s outreach staff in identifying and closing gaps in Alaska’s college pipeline and to nurture a college-going culture in its communities. Using the Making Alaska More Competitive Report prepared by Ron Phipps of the Institute for Higher Education Policy, as a roadmap, members focus on Alaska’s college access initiatives. They facilitate dialogue on critical policy issues, and provide ongoing feedback and strategies to ACPE’s Peer Mentor Program to guide its expansion across the state. Members represent Alaska business, community, education, and government organizations.
